Andrew E. LaFlamme, Jr. 80, of Worcester passed away peacefully Monday, July 22nd 2024, after a long period of declining health.
Andrew was born in Worcester, the son of Andrew E. LaFlamme Sr. and Bernice (Landry) LaFlamme. He grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. Andy, then joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country during the Vietnam Era conflict. Upon discharge and return home, Andrew met and in 1966, married the “Love of his life” Jane M. Braman. They settled in the Lakeview neighborhood of Worcester raising their family before Jane left his side in 2020. Andrew worked as a mechanic for the City of Worcester DPW in the water department before retiring after 37 years.
Andrew is survived by his two children, William A. LaFlamme and his partner Lana Jacobson of South Grafton, Michelle D. Hoffman of Hanover, PA; six grandchildren; Nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Andrew was a member of the Greendale Peoples Church. A former member, trustee, and board president of the Lakeview Congregational Church. He was a member of The Froshinn Club, and a life member of Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443. Andrew enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could.
A period of calling hours will be held Sunday, August 4th from 2 pm to 4 pm followed by a service at 4 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be held at a later time in the family plot in Newport R.I.
