Alfred E. Forjette

September 18, 1942 — September 10, 2023

Alfred E. Forjette, 80, of Worcester, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Predeceased by his beloved loving wife, Joan I. (Kasprzak) Forjette, he leaves three children, Kevin P. Forjette and his wife Anita of Switzerland, Kristin M. Vasel (Forjette) of Worcester, and David M. Forjette of Worcester.  Alfred is the son of the late Joseph O. and Delia (Sammin) Forjette; he leaves a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Boucher of Millbury, a brother Joseph Forjette and his wife Raymonde of Worcester; four grandchildren, Ana and Henry Forjette and Alexander and Katelin Vasel; along with many nieces and nephews.

Alfred “Al” has lived in Worcester all his life, graduated from St. John’s High School, and later earned his master’s degree in education from Worcester State College.  Al worked as an elementary school teacher for the City of Worcester School Department at Granite Street School for 42 years before retiring. He was an avid sports fan of all the New England teams and spent almost 40 years umpiring softball all over Central Massachusetts.  Al was also instrumental in the development of the Worcester Youth Soccer League for the city.  He was a very caring husband, Dad and Grampy/Papa.  Al’s favorite past-time was spending afternoons with his wife at the casino, relaxing by the backyard pool, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

A private remembrance will be held at the convenience of the family. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
