Henry L. Guertin, 83, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, died peacefully Sunday, September 20, 2099 in Millbury Healthcare Center after a period of failing health. Henry, son of the late Charles and Emilda (Lanoie) Guertin, was born in Worcester on July 14, 1926. In 1948, he married his beloved wife, Rita E. (Fortier) Guertin. Following his marriage to Rita, he moved to Shrewsbury where he has resided since. During World War II, Henry served our country in the United States Army. He served overseas and was honorably discharged in 1947. For over twenty years, Henry worked for Norman City Truck, and retired in 1988 from Red Star Trucking. He was a member of St. Anne Church and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 170. Henry enjoyed walking and traveling but most of all being with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dennis Guertin and his wife Susan of Bonita Springs, FL and Kenneth Guertin and his wife Leslie of Grafton; a sister Loretta Grenier of Worcester; three grandchildren, Craig Guertin of Worcester, Lauren Guertin and Jessica Guertin of Grafton and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Lucien and Leo Guertin and a sister Lucille Menard. The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to all the devoted home health aides and staff from Millbury Healthcare Center, for their loving constant care shown to Henry. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, September 24 with a Funeral Mass in St. Anne Church, 130 Boston Tpke, Shrewsbury at 11:00 AM.
