Adelord "Buddy" J. Ploof, 79, of South Grafton, formerly of Farimont Avenue in Worcester, passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Memorial Hospital. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Jean M. (Peloquin) Ploof; their three children "one of each", a daughter, Susan K. Hosker and her husband Robert of Grafton; two sons, David A. Ploof and his wife Debbie of Loveland, Ohio and Gordon K. Ploof of Worcester; two brothers, Walter Ploof in Texas and Reginald Ploof of Millbury; two sisters, Lorraine LaVallee of Worcester and Shirley Martin in Vermont; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Melanie, and Stephanie Hosker, Adam and Nicole Ploof, Reece and Eric Conard; a great grandson, Darren Yanhian; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Jack and Robert Ploof. Adelord was born in Winooski, Vermont a son of Arthur and Ella Mae (Hemmingway) Ploof. He grew up in Vermont, before moving to Worcester in his twenties, where he met the love of his life. Together they lived in Worcester, raising their family, before moving to South Grafton about five years ago. Buddy worked as a truck driver for over twenty five years with Consolidated Beverages as a Teamster, before retiring. He was a member of Holy Family Parish formerly Saint Joseph's in Worcester. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, camping, catching fish, and puzzles. He loved his family and shared his tremendous sense of humor by being a master of "one liners". Calling hours will be held today, Thursday, January 14, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His funeral will be held Friday, January 15, from the funeral home at 9 a.m. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
