Doris M Henry

Doris M. (Abysalh) Henry, 83, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Doris is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Paul R. Henry; a daughter, Patricia A. Henry-Taylor and her husband Gerald of Worcester; two sons, William J. Henry of Worcester and Paul J. Henry and his wife Eleanor of Las Vegas; a sister in law, Abby Abysall of New York City; five grandchildren, Kimberly Reyes, Bill Henry, Shea Taylor, Michaela Taylor and Courtney Taylor; three great grandchildren, Christopher Reyes, Maya Reyes and Shawn Henry; many nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Michael and Nicholas Abysalh, Amelia Trumpaitis, Clare Grunstrom and Beatrice Berthiaume. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Rose (Salem) Abysalh, and has lived here all her life. For over twenty years, Doris worked as a banquet waitress at the Hogan Center at The College of The Holy Cross. She was a member of Saint George Orthodox Cathedral, and enjoyed BINGO and bowling. Calling hours for Doris will be held today, Friday, January 15, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; a Trisagion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 16, from the funeral home with a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in Saint George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
