Joseph P. Souza

Joseph P. Souza, 60, of Putnam, formerly of Worcester, and Leicester,died peacefully Saturday January 16, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Joesph is survived by three sons; Josh Souza and his wife Fiorella, of Putnam, Justin Souza of Putnam, Michael Souza of Shirley, and his mother Diana (Torcivia) Souza. His former wife Marianne (Bandilla) Souza, four grandchildren, Jenna, Heather, Matthew, and Aiden, two brothers Michael Souza of Milton, and Stephen Souza of Dracut, and nephews and nieces. A sister Linda Testa predeceased him. Joseph was born in Quincy, MA, son of Diana (Torcivia) Souza and the late Joseph Souza and attended North Quincy High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam from 1968 to 1972. He came to the Worcester area many years ago and Worked at the Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester and North Grafton for many years And was still working up until his illness. Joseph enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He will be missed by his family and friends. Joseph's funeral will be held Friday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 9am in Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours are from 5-8PM on Thursday. Interment will be in the National Veterans Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
