Emma (Rossetti) Laplume, 96, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester, with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexis J. Laplume, in 1990. Emma is survived by a son, Alexis "Jack" J. Laplume, Jr. and his wife Christine; three daughters, Rose Marie Hudson and her husband Edward, Geraldine Stuart and her companion John Grandmaison and Susan Miller all of Worcester; three brothers, Joseph Rossetti, Philip Rossetti and Alfred Rossetti all of Worcester; two sisters, Beatrice Ambrose and Florence Mierzejewski both of Worcester; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by three daughters, Jeannette Burns, Carol Ruttencutter and Shirley J. Denio; a grandson, Lloyd Stuart; two great grandchildren, Brian Colonies and Michael Johnstone; three brothers, Julian Rossetti, John Rossetti and Frank Rossetti and a sister, Estelle LaPrade. Emma was born in Worcester, daughter of Vincent and Domenica (Mangano) Rossetti, and has lived here all her life. She worked as a seamstress for many years, and then worked for the food services department at Clark University, before she retired. She was a member of Christ the King Church. She was a volunteer for several area charitable organizations. Emma's family would like to thank all the wonderful people at the Odd Fellows Home and at Evercare Hospice for their care and comfort over the years. A calling hour will be held Thursday, January 21, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADNATE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint George Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Patient Activity Fund at the Odd Fellow Home, 101 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
