Dorothy E Mazzone

Shrewsbury Dorothy E. (Graham) Mazzone, 83, of Shrewsbury passed away Friday, January 22nd 2010 with her loving family by her side at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after a brief illness. Dorothy's husband Anthony G. Mazzone passed away in 1989. A son Steven Mazzone passed away in 1988. Dorothy is survived by her beloved son, Robert Mazzone of Shrewsbury, a sister, Joan Graham-Goss and her husband Mel, a step son, Anthony Mazzone and his wife Ellie and their children, Rev James Mazzone, John and Lisa Mazzone; a neice Lisa Bonardi, her husband David and their children, Juliana Bonardi and James McSherry. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Robert A. and Mildred (Judson) Graham. She grew up in Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury more than 50 years ago. Dorothy worked as an office assistant for the Westboro State Hospital before retiring. She previously worked many years for the former Federal Savings Bank in Worcester. Dorothy was an avid football fan and enjoyed playing cards with her many friends, and traveling widely with longtime friend Chris Allen and Kay Trafecante. She also enjoyed the many activities she participated in at the Central YMCA. Dorothy will be sadly missed by family and friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her grandson, the Rev. James Mazzone will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, January 26th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
