Richard J. Dickie" Lombardi, 76, of Worcester died peacefully Wednesday December 11, 2013 in the UMASS Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of fifty three years Eileen (Donohue) Lombardi, his four devoted daughters; Sharon Lombardi and her partner David Berberian, Deborah Green and her husband Brian, Andrea Hastings and her husband Peter, and Karen Wilson and her husband Michael. Richard was the doting grandfather to his six grandchildren; Ryan, Bridget,Casey, Cameron, Brady, and Amanda. He leaves his brother Robert Lombardi and his wife Jacqueline, and a sister Donna (Lombardi) Kachadoorian and her husband Thomas, also several nephews and nieces. Richard was born in Worcester son of the late Joseph and Mary (DeAngelis) Lombardi and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of North High School, and also Worcester Junior College. Dickie was a long time Salesman at the former General Automotive Supply Company for many years, He was an integral part of that business for many years along with several other employees of the company that he made lifetime friendships with. He most recently worked for the Joyce O'Connor Realty Company. Richard attended the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, and was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. Dickie was proud of his Italian Heritage and enjoyed all types of Italian food. He liked to play cards and vacationing in Maine. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed the company of being with his friends. However his most precious times were those spent with his family. He will be sadly missed by all those whose live's he touched. Richard's funeral will be held Wednesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation st. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary 25 Fales St. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00PM to 7:00PM in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at St. Johns Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O.
