Selma Reva Young

February 12, 1928 — April 9, 2015

Selma "Babe" Reva (Coblentz) Young, 87, of Worcester passed away Thursday April 9th 2015 at home with her devoted family gathered at her side. She leaves her beloved husband of 59 years, Paul K. Young; her cherished daughter Beth-Ann Martunas and her husband Steven, her loving grandchildren, Joshua Martunas and his wife Lauren, Jeremy Martunas and his fiancé Katie Smith and a step-granddaughter Melissa Owens of Savannah, GA. Selma was predeceased by a brother Harvey Coblentz and a sister Harriet Bartfield. The family would also like to thank those from Jewish Healthcare Hospice who cared for Babe this past year. She was born in Springfield the daughter of Herman and Bessie (Kapen) Coblentz and was raised in Worcester. Selma graduated Commerce High School and was a senior clerk in the retirement department for the city of Worcester for 17 years and retired several years ago. She was a member of Temple Emanuel and a life member of Hadassah. Private funeral services and burial in Holy Society Cemetery, Leicester will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial observance will be held on Sunday, April 12th from noon to 7pm and on Monday, April 13th from 3pm to 7 pm at the residence of Beth-Ann and Steven Martunas, 9 Barry Rd., Worcester 01609. Memorial contributions in Selma's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Waltham, MA, or Jewish Healthcare Hospice c/o Donations, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
