Bhailalbhai P. Suthar, PhD

Bhailalbhai P. Suthar - Motabhai (Big Brother), as his entire family called him lovingly, was born to Maniba & Purushottamdas Suthar in Kadachhala, Gujarat and was the oldest of the 7 children. He was united in marriage to Narmadaben in late 1940s in Tundav, Gujarat, with whom he lived a rich & fulfilling life.He had a Doctorate in Education and wrote several books, was a true teacher by nature. As a true teacher he would help each individual recognize their abilities & autonomy, was always there to guide and support all. A dignified teacher has lifetime students from his early days of teaching, who to this day deeply respect him. Patiently, he would persist until each one of his disciples succeeded in the lesson. Coming from a farming family, he was also a farmer by heart; a lime tree was always in his yard in India and US. He loved to follow and discuss politics. He joyfully recounted his life stories.A highly principled person who responsibly nurtured and raised five children, two brothers-in-law and a nephew. Throughout his life, he made countless sacrifices to provide the best for his family, including immigrating to the United States in 1980s where he re-established himself from scratch in mid-age. He made a home in Salinas, CA, where he supported his family as they established themselves on a new land.With humble beginnings, today he is succeeded by 5 wonderful and successful children – Vinod (an engineer), Minaxi (a homemaker & trained teacher), Kirit (an accountant), Sudha (a homemaker with M.A. in Psychology) & Ashok (an IT professional); 8 grandchildren – Neel, Apurv, Sweeti, Joshan, Mayank, Mayurika, Vaibhav & Ripple; 5 great grandchildren – Krish, Yash, Riya, Anush & Arnav.Now his soul has left his body to reunite with his beloved wife and soulmate in heaven. May their souls rest in peace for eternity.
