Nicholas J. Rossetti, Sr. 92, formerly of Windbrook Estates in Auburn, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 30th 2017, one week prior to his 93th birthday on December 7, 2017. Nicholas was born and raised in Worcester, one of nine children of Italian immigrants Angelo and Maria (Giaquinto) Rossetti. Nicholas served his country proudly during War II, before returning home where he worked as an Antique dealer and owned antique shops. He was also a real-estate investor over his working career. Nicholas’s wife Rose (Brown) Rossetti pre deceased him; He is survived by four children, Nicholas Rossetti, Jr. of Worcester, Michael Rossetti in New York, Mary Margaret Wolford in San Diego, California and Meredith Rossetti in Florida; Nicholas Ferry, whom he helped raise and thought of as a son; a sister, Josephine D. Pietro of Worcester; a brother, Anthony Rossetti of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends including, Maryann Girard and Paula Pietro-Malmquist who were his guardians and caregivers. Two brothers, Christy and Louis Rossetti and four sisters, Jenny Fitzback, Michelina Casey, Madeline Pezzula and Margaret Reilly-Baldino all pre deceased him. Nicholas was a quiet man who lived a simple life. He enjoyed the occasional trips to the casinos, travel and entertaining people. At Worcester Health center, he would provide uplifting spirits and smiles on residents faces with his wit and personality. The holidays, special occasions and anytime he was around his family were very special to him. Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours on Nick’s 94th birthday, Thursday, December 7th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. follow by a Prayer service at 11:00am. Burial of ashes will follow in St John Cemetery. The family request flowers be omitted.
