Ellen M. Papaz

Ellen M. (Spain) Papaz, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 surrounded by her loving family at the Dodge Park Rest Home. She was predeceased by her devoted husband George “Pappy” Papaz in 2015 and son David in 1993, identical twin sister Elinor in 2014, and other siblings. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Jane Papaz of Westborough and Susan and Jeffrey Hutchinson of Sanford FL; her granddaughters Meryl and Jenna Papaz; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Shrewsbury in 1935, Ellen graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1953 and went on to marry George and raise their three children in Worcester. She worked for many years at Norton Company, retiring in 1998. With a real zest for life, Ellen loved to dance, read, play cards, and spend time with family and friends. Her greatest pleasure was welcoming others to her home, especially during the holidays. She will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, MA.  A memorial service for Ellen will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
