Genevieve (Siminski) Capalbo, 91 longtime resident of Millbury passed away peacefully Monday, December 11, 2017 with her devoted son by her side, joining in heaven The “Love of her Life”, her husband George. Genevieve was born in Worcester on October 6, 1926, the daughter of Polish immigrants John and Viola (Walzack) Siminski. Raised in Worcester, Genevieve graduated from St Mary’s High School. In the early fifties, Genevieve, a beauty pageant winner, met a young radio engineer during an interview on WAAB AM Worcester, George J. Capalbo. They dated for 5 years, before marrying in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. They spent the next 55 years dedicated to one another, their son and grandson, before George passed away in 2013. She has lived in Millbury for over 55 years. Genevieve is survived by her devoted son, George N. Capalbo with whom she lived; her grandson George L. Capalbo of Millbury; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family including her nephew Richard Woodcock of Worcester, James Sieminski of Simi Valley, CA, and Larry Sieminski of Holden to whom she was extremely close. Two brothers, Stanley and Joseph Siminski and two sisters, Mary Woodcock and Anne Gillette, and favorite niece Judy Shirk all predeceased her. Genevieve was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with her husband, son and grandson, the occasional Foxwoods trip, crochet, dancing, ice skating and travel. Her life’s inspiration was her husband George, they were always together and in love from the day they met. Together forever is their moto once more. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19th 2017 at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial aside of George will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling will be held Tuesday, December 19th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
