Biography

Cecilia R. (Strakosz) Luszczynski, of Auburn died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 after a short illness. Her husband of 48 years Lucian A. Luszczynski died 1993.
She is survived by a daughter, Justine Black and her husband Paul, with whom she lived. A son, Chester Luszczynski and his wife Barbara of Boylston, NY. Cecilia leaves four granddaughters, two grandsons and two great granddaughters; a brother Titus Strakosz of Sutton; a sister Grace Mangaudis of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers, Adam Strakose, Wesley Strakosz and two sisters, Genevieve Kaminski and Helen Toloczko.
Cecilia was born in Worcester the daughter of Jan and Antonina (Szlachetka) Strakosz. She attended Worcester public schools. In her youth she was a gymnast with the Polish Falcon Association. Before her marriage she worked in a factory. She enjoyed music, reading and doing embroidery.
The funeral for Cecilia will be held Saturday, July 31st from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantations Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. will be held in the funeral home prior to her service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to: Auburn Visiting Nurse Association, 191 Pakachog Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
