Sally J. (Belinskas) Phenix, 80, of Worcester, a loving mother and neighborhood fixture, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Saint Vincent Hospital.  Her husband, Roger N. Phenix, predeceased her in 2000.

Mariano and her husband James of Rockland, Pamela M. Rafferty of Worcester, and Michelle M. Phenix and her fiancé Mark Lareau of Worcester; seven brothers, Stanley Belinskas and his wife Gail, Paul Belinskas and his wife Jeannie, Michael Belinskas and his wife Barbara, Daniel Belinskas and his wife Nancy, all of Worcester, and David Belinskas and his wife Maryanne of Shrewsbury, Stephen Belinskas and his wife Phyliss of Daytona, FL, and James Belinskas and his wife Madeline of Spencer. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, James and his wife Vatsaly, David, Katelyn, Kendal, Zachary, Samantha and her husband Chris, Gianna, Hailey, Shelby, and Ashley; as well as five great grandchildren, Mason William, Phenix, Harper,  Gunner, and Nathan; her beloved Maltese Stuart; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, George Belinskas and her son in law, William Olson.

Sally was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Stanley and Phyllis (Bindhammer) Belinskas, and has lived here all her life.  Sally was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church, where she volunteered for BINGO and as a worker in the thrift shop.  She was active at the Worcester Senior Center, and volunteered for years in “the shack” at Jack Barry Little League.  Sally loved her family and was a fierce supporter of her children’s sporting activities and those of her brothers.  She was well loved by many people and will be remembered for always having a yard full of children, from throughout Grafton Hill, simply playing and enjoying themselves as kids.

Sally’s family would like to thank all of the wonderful “angels” at Saint Vincent Hospital, especially in the ICU and PCU.  Their care and compassion for Sally and her family is greatly appreciated.

A Memorial Mass for Sally will be on Tuesday, September 25, at 11 a.m. in Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester.  There are no calling hours.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
