Patricia (Curran) Osper

October 30, 1936 — August 24, 2018

Patricia (Curran) Osper, 81, a longtime Boylston resident passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side Friday, August 24th 2018.

Patricia’s husband of 47 years, Robert J. Osper passed away March 7th 2009. She is survived by three daughters, Marion Young and her husband Michael of Sturbridge, Joanne Hilyard and her husband Jeffrey of Worcester, Becky Adams and her husband George of Boylston; two granddaughters, Amanda Tefft and her husband Dave of North Brookfield, and Kristine Young of Holland; two cherished great-grandsons, William and Timothy Tefft; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Three brothers, James, Gerard and John Curran pre deceased her. 

She had a special bond with her niece Kathy Curran. Patricia spent a lot of time with Kathy when she was a young girl and they shared some special moments together.

Patricia was born in Worcester; her parents were the late James and Anna R. (Yuravich) Curran. She graduated from Commerce High School. She worked at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology, Worcester County Courthouse, and accounting clerk at a Worcester Hardware store before settling down with Robert and raising a family. Patricia has lived in Boylston more than 55 years.

Patricia was a member of St Mary of the Hills Church. She was a sweet and easy-going woman who loved her family which included all her pets, she enjoyed watching old movies, indulging in delicious pastries (especially chocolate), going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. In her younger years, Patricia painted pictures and her pen name was “PACO” Patricia Ann Curran Osper. She also took ceramic classes and created some beautiful pieces like the “Pinky and Blue Boys Lamps” still displayed in her living room.

She had a beautiful flower garden every year which her daughter Marion helped her maintain.

She kept up with the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and frequently discussed the players and stats with her daughters Marion and Joanne.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, August 28th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.    Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 29th from the funeral home with a procession to St Mary of the Hills Church 670 Cross St. where the mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.   Burial will follow next to her husband in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin PlBoston, MA
