Lucy A. D'Angelo

June 11, 1929 — September 27, 2018

Lucy A. D’Angelo, 89 of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Christopher House.

Lucy was born in Worcester on June 11, 1929, a daughter of the late Bonifacio and Assunta (Curci) D’Angelo. She graduated from Commerce High School and worked as a secretary for 28 years for the Coca Cola Company before her retirement.  Lucy was a devoted and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where she worked as secretary for over 20 years after retirement.  She also was very involved with the church’s Golden Years group, the Circle of Friends, the church choir, Music Worcester, and the Our Lady of Sorrows organization.  Lucy was a HUGE Red Sox fan who never missed a game. She shared her love of the team by organizing many community bus trips to Fenway over the years. She loved traveling, going to the Casino, family gatherings, and taking her nieces and nephews everywhere.

Lucy was kind, compassionate, generous, and benevolent. She contributed to many charities, sponsored a family in South America for over a decade, and was always there to help out a friend or share what she had with anyone who needed it.

Lucy is survived by her beloved brother, Carmine N. D’Angelo of Worcester; her nieces and nephews, Sue Peirce and her husband Jim of Charlton, John Fitzgerald and his wife Tammy of Holden, Patricia Florio and her husband Bob of Worcester, Mark D’Angelo and his wife Linda of Portland, CT and Tom Fitzgerald and his wife Stacy of Auburn; and several great nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her sister, Mary Fitzgerald and her sister-in-law, Concetta D’Angelo.
