Leonilda Foggia

Leonilda (Scola) Foggia, 86 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family.

Leonilda was born in San Giacomo, Acri Italy, a daughter of the late Eugenio and Annunziata (Celso) Scola.  She came to Worcester in 1965 and has lived here ever since.  Leonilda was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Leonilda’s husband, Giacomo Foggia passed away in 1988.  She is survived by a son, Frank J. Foggia; two daughters, Maria Solitro and her husband Michael and Nancy M. Owens and her husband Scott all of Worcester; three brothers, Pasquale Scola of Milan, Italy, Frank Scola and Anthony Scola both of Worcester; a sister, Lena Trombino of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Michael Solitro and his wife Antonia of Sandwich, MA, Jillian Solitro of Concord, MA, Christopher Solitro and his wife Sondra of Burlington, MA and Veanna Foggia of Webster; three great grandchildren, Alden, Gianluca and Theodore Solitro; many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by two siblings, Michael Scola and Lena Scola.

Services for Leonilda will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 12:30 pm in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester.  Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Worcester.  A period of calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 3^rd from 10 am to 12 noon in the funeral home prior to departure for church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.  To share your thoughts and memories of Leonilda, please visit her personal guestbook at www.mercadantefuneral.com
