Anthony F. Maruca, 64, of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday August 7, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Anthony is survived by his devoted wife of 44 Years Brenda L. (Brophy) Maruca, Tony also leaves his loving children, A son Nicholas J. Maruca, daughters, Kimberly M. Brindisi and her husband Derek, and Allyson F. Sala and her husband Robert all of Worcester. He leaves his brothers, John Maruca and Joseph Maruca and his wife Jeanette, and his sister Angela Dow and her husband Bernard. Anthony was the proud grandfather to, Dante, Olivia, Anthony, Camilla, Domenic, Alexis, Ava, Mason, and Jaxson. Tony leaves his long-time friends Joseph and Angela Martini, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, Richard, and Gennaro “Gino” Maruca.

Anthony was born in Worcester son of the late Gennaro and Camilla (Romano) Maruca and has lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and North High School class of 1972. Anthony was the owner and operator of Creative Cabinets on East Central St. in Worcester for over 25 years. The Company is still a family owned business run by his son Nicholas and family.

Tony is a former life time dedicated member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St Ann, and currently is a member of Christ the King Parish. He was a member of the East Side Improvement Club, The Sons of Italy Lodge#168, and the Mount Carmel Preservation Society. He was a fixture on his beloved Shrewsbury Street neighborhood which he loved dearly. He enjoyed having his entire family at his home weekly for dinners and celebrations. Christmas Eve being his favorite celebration of all. He enjoyed visiting Ogunquit, Maine and most of all his many trips with family and friends to Walt Disney World. Anthony was most happy being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved going to work every day to work alongside his son. Anthony was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Anthony always had a smile on his face. He will be remembered as a man that you would go to for comfort and advice. He believed that family was most important. He always found a way to ensure to all that everything, no matter what, would be ok. He will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know him.

Anthony’s funeral will be held on Saturday August 11th, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Calling hours to Celebrate and remember Anthony will be held on Friday evening in the funeral home from 4PM to 7PM.
