Anthony W Aiello

February 2, 1925 — October 4, 2018

Anthony “Tony” W. Aiello, Sr., 93, of 89 Allston Avenue, Worcester, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 4, 2018. He leaves behind his Beloved wife of 66 years, Angelina C. (Salemmo) Aiello, three sons, Anthony W. Aiello, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Sutton, David Aiello and his wife Darlene of Charlton, and John Aiello and his wife Linda of Thompson, Connecticut. He also leaves two daughters, Teresa Wood and her husband James of Sutton, and Debra Servideo, formerly of Oxford. He was the son of Filippo and Teresa Aiello.  He is also predeceased by a son, Philip Aiello, one brother and three sisters. Anthony also leaves behind his ten Beloved grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 

Tony was born in Worcester and lived here his entire life. He served his country in World War II and saw action in Okinawa.  Tony made a profound impact on the lives of so many and will be missed immensely. He was a devoted husband and valued the importance of family.

Tony owned and operated his own barber shop for many years, then worked as a mail carrier for the Worcester Postal Service and the City of Worcester Water Department, retiring in 1982.  
Tony's pastimes included camping and spending time on Cape Cod Canal, trips to the Casino, gardening at his home, and more importantly, spending time and being surrounded by his family and friends whom he loved and adored. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  
Tony’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at 10am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Worcester.  Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery in Worcester.  Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester.
