Frank J Pusateri Sr

Frank Joseph "Lanky" Pusateri, Sr. of Ellicott City, MD formerly of Stamford CT and Worcester Ma, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born July 19, 1927 in Worcester, MA, the first-born of the late Joseph J. and Rose (DiBlasi) Pusateri. He graduated from Commerce High School, joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country during World War II. Upon return to Worcester in 1946, Frank earned a degree in engineering from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute (WITI). He also attended Worcester Junior College, and completed post-graduated degree courses at New York University and Columbia University where he was earned the position of Class President. Frank grew up in Worcester, moved to Stamford CT for 27 years after completing job assignments in Switzerland and Venezuela while working 28 years in numerous management positions for American Can Company, New York. He retired as Vice-President of World Trade, overseeing export sales & licensing, technical assistance, and mergers & acquisitions in 1984. Frank's work took him to 83 countries, and he was fluent in several languages. Upon his retirement, Frank moved back to the Worcester area, and formed International Management Consultants, continuing his work in the international field as its President until his final retirement in 1998. He has lived in Ellicott City since 2007. Frank is survived by his loving wife and partner of 60 years, whom he married August 12th 1950 at St. Peters Church, Helen Cecilia (Savino) Pusateri; four devoted children , Frank J. Pusateri, Jr., Paul and Michael Pusateri, and Judi Robinson; their spouses, as well as many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vincent and Joseph Pusateri; a sister, Nina Sweet; sisters and brothers in law; aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends worldwide. Frank was predeceased by a brother Anthony Pusateri and two sisters, Eleanor Dell Olio and Rosemary Pusateri. He was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, and the Licensing Executives Society. Frank was a founder and past president of the European Can Association in Zurich, Switzerland. He was also a member of the Eastside Post 201, American Legion and The Columbus Civic Association, in Worcester where he often met with life-long friends. He was a member of the Accordion Club of Maryland, the Order of the Sons of Italy in America, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Frank was a loving family man, often hosting family reunions at his home. He was an accomplished musician playing the accordion, sharing his musical talents which brought so much joy to so many throughout his life. His most recent engagement at the Ellicott City Senior Center exemplified his way of giving something back' in gratitude for the wonderful life he enjoyed with his wife, family and friends. Among his favorite sayings were "Onward and Upward", "The Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule" He lived his life accordingly. Franks funeral will be held Wednesday, October 20th 2010 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Tuesday, October 19th 2010 from 4 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home.
